Challenge has finished
This challenge gives you the opportunity to showcase some interesting insects, or arthropods which you've captured on your camera. Let's think beyond honey bees, bumblebees, butterflies etc to some of the more unusual creatures you've found. If you don't know what they are, then another member might know. The insects should be outside in the natural world if possible, doing their natural thing. Macro and close-up photos welcome. Size of entry:1,600px MAXIMUM.

Different kinds of insects are visiting my garden in spring and summer. I took this pic of a brush beetle with my 100mm macro lens, so the background got nicely smooth. The combination of the lilac flower hue with the light green background color gives an interesting contrast, I think. Regards, Mario.
