Central Africa: Non-Portraits
Challenge has finished
As we move (roughly) south thru Africa, the this challenge will cover the following countries: Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda, The CAR, Dem Rep of Congo; Zimbabwe, and Zambia. It is my sense that very few people have been to many/all of these countries, so I don't think we'll hit the 35-entry maximum. If we do, then I'll probably add more spaces, so everyone who wants can enter. Entrants are required to (1) vote for each other entry, (2) read the comments (if any) below this challenge, in case I or other entrants post with Rules questions or clarifications, and (3) follow each of the challenge rules...including voting WITHIN THE FIRST SIX DAYS of the challenge.

This is a Garratt articulated steam locomotive that is effectively two steam engines sharing one boiler which were the main type of steam engine used in Zimbabwe up to the new millenium. The traditional name for the Victoria Falls is the Smoke that Thunders and it was a name used by the definitive book on Garratt Steam locomotives in Rhodesia that became Zimbabwe. Victoria fals is only a kilometre or so from this spot.
