Challenge has finished
This challenge is about flowers on tall stalks or stems. It may be difficult to find appropriate examples of stemmed flowers, because we look at the flower as the subject, and ignore the stem. (Why do some flowers hug the ground or remain close to their parent plant, while others reach for the sky?) Your flower may have risen to great heights from a succulent, or you might shoot smaller plants, such as poppies, tulips or dandelions from the ground looking up, so we get the idea of great height. Show us these flowers, with their stems, outside in their natural environment, still growing, NOT in vases or bouquets. Small creatures may be present, but should not dominate the picture. Macro and close-up shots welcome. SIZE: 1,600px MAXIMUM ON LONGER SIDE.

Toadflax is considered a noxious weed in these parts, so much that herds of sheep are brought in each summer to control them. This one somehow evaded the ovine onslaught and grew to a conspicuous height.
