Driving through hills on dirt roads, I reached a small tribal hamlet deeply nestled somewhere between Araku and the Orissa border. I saw a few structures where grains were stored, some chickens, some goats, two rows of thatched dwellings, a few old women and children. The kids were very shy and ran away as soon as I tried to approach them, yet came back to see the car I was travelling in. I handed them a bar of chocolate. They were delighted. This little girl in the image caught my particular attention because she was very wary. She kept her distance from both the car and me, yet never letting me go out of her sight, lightly hopping behind some cover with her little brother wedged on her hips as soon as I turned to look.
