Pretty Everyday Things

Challenge #58 in the Language Of Light series. Hosted by Deleted pending purge.
Challenge has finished
This Challenge is about things we see every day, and hardly ever think about how beautiful these are! Consider coffee cups, tools, furniture, cutlery... all deceivingly simple, but someone somewhere produced all this, striving to make it useful AND nicely shaped! So let's look at our "everyday things" again, but from purely aesthetic point of view. PLEASE mind all the rules!

The Balisong (Butterfly Knife to Westerners) is a double-edged close-quarters fighting (stabbing/slashing) knife that originated in Batangas province, Philippines. In expert hands, it can be drawn from the pocket, unlocked, flicked open one-handed in a fraction of a second, using a fast swinging motion that relies on centrifugal force to release the blade without the user cutting his own hand. This is my personal copy, made of stainless steel.
