“Durga” literally means “the inaccessible or the invincible”. As a goddess, Durga's feminine power contains the combined energies of all the gods. This sculpture of the revered Goddess is made of terracotta, a material of choice in West Bengal for creating artistic figurines. This image was shot at The Indian Museum at Kolkata while my girlfriend was admiring it. As her reflection fell on the glass showcase, I wanted to capture the beauty and power of womanhood embodied in Hindu mythological literature as well as in the world he lives in.
