At the time this picture was taken, the pot, one of the earliest depictions of the human female form in pottery, was at the Harvard University Semitic Museum in Cambridge MA. The pot is a remarkably beautiful and delicate item and is quite small, about 125mm high. It dates to about 5000 BC and was found near the Dead Sea in Jordan. I was charged with photographing the object for the museum as part of an cataloging project. I understand the pot was returned to Jordan in the 1980s and is now in the collection of the Citadel Museum in Amman.
