The living have to eat to go on living. That single aspect is the most powerful motivation - equally to humans and to other beings. However, while we humans apparently see no end in complicating the issue, the animals use the most direct way to achieve the same goal. Whatever we call it, the ultimate truth remains: there is no life without death. Show us an animal with the prey it has caught.

Fly, land on water, dive, chase fish, catch fish, chase and catch more fish, surface, take off, fly to land, fly zig zags to avoid parasitic gulls, land near burrow, dive down burrow, feed baby, Get out of burrow and repeat, again and again and again. Puffins may look comical but they sure have to be fit!
