Between the mid 40's and 50's, Richard Avedon was inflluential in defining fashion photography, inspiring many photographers to approach this genre with a fresh, unique perspective. His images conveyed the American view of style, beauty, and culture at that time. Avedon defied the rigid "model in studio" paradigm by shooting his subjects mostly outdoors and/or in ordinary, daily life environments. This challenge pays tribute to Richard Avedon's defining years of fashion photography (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Avedon for more information about Richard Avedon and his photography).
