Tree Bark

Challenge #6 in the Life in the Natural World series. Hosted by RuthC.
Challenge has finished
The bark on trees, (not the four-legged kind) can offer interesting and beautiful images. Show us texture, pattern, colour, light and shade, rough and smooth. Needless to say, the tree and its bark should be outside in its natural environment, not under studio lights! If you know the name of the tree, let us know. If there are small insects on the tree, that's okay, but they must not dominate the picture. SIZE DOES MATTER: See below!
