Painterly Landscape ~ Read The Rules - Capture Date Requirement

Challenge #12 in the Outside The Box series. Hosted by JamesWG.
Challenge has finished
Your challenge is to create a landscape that looks like it might be a watercolor or oil painting. Although there are many "filters" and "textures" prepackaged with various applications, I would like you to create your own textures to enhance your entry and NOT use the "off the shelf textures". The texture should be consistent with the original image - some examples might be tree bark for a forest, rippling water for a lake etc.

A straight over-the-surface shot of the pond flowers. Resized copy was Post-processed in Corel PhotoPaint. The lower part of the picture was additionally vertically compressed / deformed to further highlight the low POV. Finally the Impasto effect was added for texture.
