An image of a missile I fired as the Battery Commander of a US Nike-Hercules Missile Battery in the interior of Alaska in 1969. This weapon was nuclear capable and had surface-to-air and surface-to-surface capability. This weapons platform has since been discontinued. It is a stark reminder of the cold war climate during that period.
