Not a bad picture, but you should really have your sensor cleaned! This photograph is filled with black dots... I am pretty sure you know how to deal with them in Photoshop...

This winning image says more about the challenges on this site than the photographer. It must be sad and frustrating for every real photographer. Pintless participating.

wow. nice going. didn't get to vote but the thumbnail on the homepage recent challenges caught my eye. would not worry about 'curt' comments. obviously this entry struck a chord with many who understood what the challenge was about and the voting shows it. (and who knows, maybe you should feel honored- sarcasm intended - by justyntime's comments.... according to his profile his comment is the first activity he has had here in at least a year)

I had the number two photo in this challenge, and I have no problem with the winning shot. There were no pp restrictions, and who knows exactly what the sky looks like on Arrakis? This result certainly looks alien, and the desert foreground is a great shot for the challenge by itself.

If you want to be critical, talk about how to improve it, don't just hate on it.

If this is meant realistic: embarrassing.
Bad composition too.
This is the stuff children do when you give them the tools. How old are you?
Nice color dialog - but MADE not FOUND - hence worthless in photographic context ...
Stephen Shore once told me (in 1994): "Kurt, what I´m seing in your work is that you´re trying to MAKE a picture out of something" This opened my eyes and after that I changed my whole approach to photography.
But you don´t know who Stephen Shore is, do you?

This is one of the most condescending comments I've ever read on dpreview. It's sad because you give some great feedback, but it's lost because of its outright rudeness. Is it possible to critique a photo without pretending to be better than everyone else?

I am mystified as to why someone would go out of their way to insult someone. You don't like the photo, fine, comment on the photo but the insults devalue any comment you make.
