In this series, the challenges will be based on simple photographic issues with little restrictions. However, each entrant is also obliged to give comment about all other entires in the series. Voting is optional. In this first series, the subject is free, it's only required to shoot it after the announcement date

Processing rules:

Post processing is as cosmetics, use a little and it enhances the end result artistically. Use too much and the result is blatantly artificial, which is frawned upon in this challenge. So HDR and standard basic post processing is okay, as long as it is not overwhelmingly noticable.
No compositions, we want honest pictures

Capture date rules:

Images must be shot after the announcement date of the challenge.

Additional rules:

Each entrant must, on their honor first, write a helpful Comment/Critique for the other 19 entries no later than the ending of the voting phase. Furthermore, they are also cordially invited to comment on the example picture. The comment should be about what they like and/or dislike about the photo, and what they may have done differently, Failure to comply with this rule may result in disqualification eventually.
To allow proper evalutation and balancing loading times, the longest side of the submitted picture should be no less than 1000 pixels and no more than 1600 pixels
Comply with the standard DPR decency rules.
No recycling; photos must not have been entered in previous challenges.

Stunning view, both the waves created by the boat and the road in the lower right side. I would have maybe used a narrower aperture for this scene but it is a good picture !

I like the curves in the road, and I'd have liked that to be the subject of the photo. The boat in the distance is somewhat of a distraction, rather than adding to the whole scene. Great image though!.

I am not good with landscapes and the image doesn't talk to me, it is too much of everything and little of something that would grab my attention. Would love to visit and get the feeling.

Thanks, all... I aggree that the upper half is far more interesting and I have 16:9 and 1:2 crops done that way. Here I tried to show two ways of traveling, plus what could possiblly associate one of the aerial view as the third. Oh well ;)

Yep, the SeAL approach :)... I think I'll let it stay, not much sense in resubmitting the changed / corrected version...
Re some other things noticed...the distance to the boat is about 1 km, POV is about 700 meters above water, and there is relatively high humidity, creating the bluish overtones with this light direction. The camera looks due West (@ 7x zoom power), while the sunlight comes from WSW (Hehe, that's the best excuse I can scrape up at the moment ;)

I could not appreciate the combination of the two very strong and contrasted elements, the curves and the trail of the boat. It seems that I can see a better picture with only one of them, although I can imagine this as a still frame from a spy movie going on. There is also some annoying noise, poor contrast and blueish colors in the image.

Unlike others, I'm drawn to the contrast between the gradual S curve of the road and the sharp herringbone pattern of the boat wake. I think it makes your shot quite interesting. Should I be driving or water skiing? Nice job.

I am not sure what is the main subject of picture. The road? - no enough of it. The wake behind the boat? - too far. The main impression is of a brownish area which is not verry interesting.

I could appreciate the lengths you've gone to take this picture from a high place. the winding road is nicely composed, without it this photo will look quite dull.

I would like this more if it focused on the boat only. I would like to see it with cropping out 1/2 the bottom and 1/3 of the right side, leaving the water as 2/3 of the photo. That snake like road is cool in itself, but this picture is about the boat and that cool wake.

I don't see a strong point of interest in this shot. There are some hints at interesting shapes and patterns, like the waves from the boat and the winding path, but overall the composition doesn't do anything for me.
