This photo was taken in Cairo on January 28, 2011 on the 6th of October Bridge over the Nile, as protesters attempted to march into Tahrir Square in the face of severe police violence. This woman hold proudly an Egyptian flag splattered with the blood of her wounded countrymen in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
