Great picture. Great imagination.

This is one of my top most favorite shots. The vision, the PP and the result. I can see it matted, framed and hung in a gallery or a home. Very professional. I just love it and would give it a 5 rating.

The idea of 1 sec shutter speed is good.

My opinion differs from some people here. I love this shot!!!!!!!!!! really awsome abstract pic. I think you have perfectly used the medium of photography to create a work of art that may have taken an painter a few days to create. Well done!!!

I never have been one for abstract art, but I kinda like the effect you obtained in this shot. It would look great on a wall.

Emotionally speaking, I am a bit surprised by the accomplished effect of the flames. However, I can not see this image as a picture.

Maybe it will be a great composition for some and could be valued as art, but commenting only as a photograph and according to my taste, I cannot give it much credit.

I really like seeing abstract shots where the photographer didn't just rely on pp, but made all or part of the effect at the time of shooting. Great job! Definitely looks like a painting.

when I 1st look at this photo my first impression was its just like an accidental captures because it was happen to me before..is it a zigzag panning I though..but it look interesting when I read the description that it from a burning forest..nice composition & @ 1s, it blurred the fire

I don't know what to find. A bit the dilllemma of the realistic painter about expressionistic abstract work. The orange is a bit commercial billboard but the compostion is balanced.

Well done on that one! It is a creative shot and works for me. Good technique choosing 1sec exposure, leaving enough time the wavy motion.

I like the colors and composition: the tree trunks stand out nicely too!

Taking a look at the trajectory your camera took I see a bit of room for improvement: check the left edge in the middle of the upper half, you find a highlight that shows the exact trajectory. Your choice of going for a wave motion is very good, but as you see it is a bit rocky due to normal hand shake - this unfortunately gives the picture a bit of nervousness.

What would have helped a lot is (as strange as it may sound) image stabilization taking out the shaky frequencies and letting through only the true wave motion. :)

Lovely photo! good title too - it really does look like the trees are on fire. Like bettyhilda below, I think you should do more of these. I'd like to try some myself. Did you handhold the one second exposure or use a tripod? the colors are very rich, and the contrast between them and the black tree trunks give the photo a lot of impact. I think the greens help here too. The white line from the bottom left could be cloned out - I don't think it's important to the picture is it? There is sort of a cross-hatch or weave texture - did you use a filter for that, or is it part of gimp's soft effect?

Seeing autumn as a fire and capturing it as an abstract was very imaginative. I am not normally a great lover of abstracts but you got me with this one! I really like it and it grows on me the more I look at it. The wavy lines add to the feeling of trees burning and have movement and you can almost smell the smoke! Good one! You've got to do more of these.

I don't like too many of this kind of photo, but this one is different. It's been cropped properly, colors are bold, interesting, and I don't know how you got the white up top, but it works so well!
