Thanks to all who took the time to comment. I enjoy seeing the entries people contribute to these challenges and I enjoy paticipating sometimes, myself, but I take my placement ( high or low ) with a grain of salt. I'm in it for the fun and the challenge, so to speak.....:-)

It's a shame that the *few* photos that actually reflected the themes of the story placed so low while people who probably never even read a synopsis of it did well just because they entered a pretty picture of winter. It must be discouraging.

I think this photograph is the only one atm that interprets the story, not just the title.

Nice to use the statue for winter; the stone suggests cold, silence, and distance. I like.
