As dawn nears a single fishing boat returns to the small port township of Bluff at the bottom of New Zealand's South Island. To me Hemingway's novel evokes both the solitary nature of the fisherman's life and the joys a life on the ocean can bring. This does much the same thing with the image of a single boat returning to port and the extraordinary colours of the dawn breaking over the ocean that morning.
