Fashion Photography

Submit a photograph of fashion. According to Jesse Alexander, fashion photography is "photographing the garments in such a way as to convey a sense of their physical quality as well as their formal appearance, as opposed to simply illustrating the object." Although your photo will have a fashion model in it, be aware that the subject of your photograph will be either clothing, cosmetics, footwear, jewelry, hair styling, or other adornment, and not the model. Compose your photo around the fashion item and make it the center of attention in your photo. Be inspired by the photography in fashion magazines such as Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. But be aware that fashion photography has become a high art form, and that you will be comparing yourself to some of the finest photographers in history.
