Submit a photograph of food. Your goal is to take a photograph of food in a way that it appears appetizing. Take a look at some quality cookbooks for examples of this kind of photography.

Processing rules:

Minimal post-processing. This challenge is an exercise in straight photography.
Food is often improved with added sharpness and texture enhancement.

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

Shoot quickly. Your food ought to be fresh out of the oven or refrigerator.
Natural sky lighting is best. A small distant window gives a nice quality of light that gives definition. You may need to add a reflector to fill in the shadows.
Try not to use your camera's flash.
Be sure your exposure is good, avoiding both deep shadows in the food, or color shifts due to overexposure.
The best shots tend to be at a low angle, or from directly above.
Use a telephoto or macro lens to isolate your subject. You will likely need a tripod.
Have a number of props, such as napkins, silverware, or salt shakers, to add some interest, but don't allow these to overwhelm your subject.
You may want a plain and unobtrusive background.
Good white balance will make the food look better.
Food photos are often disappointing. Add sharpening and local contrast in your image to enhance texture.
Use your best technique and equipment - sharpness is important.
