You are only allowed to use the lens(es) that came with your camera when you first bought it! For many modern DSLR or mirrorless owners, that may mean the scrappy 27-85mm lens. For the point-and-shoot owners, it's fair game as well, just make sure you have no adapters attached to your lens. And for people who bought their camera body-only, well, you can take a picture with the body cap on!
