This solid oak box dates from the 1st world war. I've had it for 30yrs. It contained sights for artillery and the stencil stating this is on the inside lid. It travels everywhere with me and I keep valuables and personnel items secured inside with an 80yr old lock. There is no finish on it other than a natural patina.
