The elegant & richly ornate shrines, though in dilapidated condition are belongs to 13th & 14th Cent. AD at Uch Sharif, 75 km from Bahawalpur Pakistan. Uch is a very old town. It is believed that it existed in 500 BC or perhaps in even earlier, before the advent of Bakiramajit, when Jains and Buddhists ruled the subcontinent. At the time of Alexander's invasion, Uch was under the Hindu rule. In 712 AD, Muhammad bin Qasim conquered the city and during the Muslim period Uch was one of the centers of Islamic studies of South Asia.
