Overlooking the town of Waterton in Waterton National Park (CA) which is connected by this lake to Glacier National Park (USA). This was one of many long exposure photographs. The night of this photo this storm lightening was flashing every few seconds although it wasn't raining where I was situation. It was still very scary as the mountain valley creates a kind of acoustic amplification of the sound as it channels it up the valley. In the matter of a minute the winds changed and the storm headed straight for me. That night the hotel (behind me in the photograph) said they experienced 100 MPH winds and some of the heaviest rain/wind they've had in decades.
