Ever had one of those shots that just took forever to get it right? No editing...just the perfected shot, and maybe a description of what made it hard.

I was the official photographer at a vintage car rallye on narrow, largely damaged roads in Southern Poland. I was at the back seat of a car driven by a friend of mine, no seat belts fastened; he would start overtaking a car and as we were riding side by side at the same speed I would open the window, lean out as much as I could and took a series of shots. At the last moment before a head-on collision with a car approaching from the opposite direction my driver would brake rapidly so that we could "hide" behind the rallye car. Having to deal with heavy traffic on single-lane roads we had to repeat the operation many times for each car before I got the shot I was after. I came back with terrible cold and all bruised but happy with the pictures taken. I particularly like this golden oldie.
