READ CAREFULLY: This challenge is open to everybody and is aimed at those photos you took in 2010 that would be suitable for use in a newspaper or news magazine - something that covers a headline from wherever you live: a parade, a public ceremony, the launching of a ship, a funeral, a concert... whatever it is, it has to be notable and you have to describe the event in the photo description.

Chicago Blackhawk right winger Patrick Kane hoists the Stanley Cup over his head so the frenzied crowd of 2 million Chicagoans can get a better look. Mounted police escort in tow, Cup-clinching Kane served as both the exclamation point of the Blackhawk's championship season and the parade itself. The sheer density and energy of the crowd was so spectacular that the El operator slowed his train to a crawl to extend the moment by a few precious seconds.
