Redux: The Rule of Thirds

One of the easiest ways rookies can improve their photography is to apply the "Rule of Thirds." It takes conscious effort to break away from the habit of putting the subject in the middle of the frame and to actually think about the composition of the image. Before you enter, learn all about the rule of thirds then demonstrate your mastery of composition by submitting a textbook example of the rule in action.

Processing rules:

Basic image corrections (retouch as required)
No borders or watermarks

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

No sunrises, no sunsets (c'mon, this is a challenge!).
No floating or flying subjects (way too easy)
Make sure your photo actually has a subject (you'd be surprised how many really don't).
The subject must be really, really obvious.
If there is more than one subject, each must adhere to the rule of thirds.
No mediocre snapshots; prove that you actually took the time to consider the composition (or just fool us with good cropping).
If you see an entry that you feel does not qualify (especially snapshots), use the Complaint button and state your case ... but do so well before the submission deadline ends.
