Dusk and dawn are special times for an astronomer like me. Will the sky be clear tonight? Will the instrumentation work? Besides these thoughts the shear beauty of nature and technology dominates everything. Here the now decomissioned radiotelescope SEST (15m diameter) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile is shown during an observing trip in 2000.
