A Man's Reach Must Exceed His Grasp
Challenge has finished
Poet Robert Browning penned this famous quote. The meaning is debated, but for the most part is thought to mean that we must always have an unseen goal, some lofty purpose to strive for. Some would say that if we have no purpose, we have no reason for living. This challenge is about portraying lofty ideals, goals, purposes which someone may reach for all their life but never attain. Whether the photo is a literal interpretation such as a hand reaching for something just out of reach, or more esoteric image, keep in mind the images should portray the idea that there are always things in life worth reaching for even if we may never grasp them.

There surely can be no higher goal for mankind than eventual peace. This symbolic 'grasp' speaks volumes. This memorial, along with the names of those that died from the forces, commemorates that continuing struggle to reach that goal!
