Processing rules:

-No HDR.
-Minor editing only to include cropping, adjusting white balance & minor color adjustment
-Black and white OK
-No composites of 2 or more photos
-No added logos
-No borders

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

-Main focus must be of challenge subject.
-No professional work
-The main focus should not be on a person, animal or other object other than the place indicated in the challenge
-Must be obvious that the photo is from the subject of the challenge

As far as Oxford and Cambridge are concerned you are definitely wrong. There really is no such thing as a Campus there, certainly not in the American sense; with the possible exception of Ruskin or Brookes and they really aren't either.

At least they are both showing part of the town.

What I found odd about this challenge is that most of the top ranked images (e.g. 1, 2, 4, and maybe 3) sure look like the "college campus" to me. Perhaps I misunderstood something?

when they sky's white i often just give it a shot in black and white, could have worked nicely given the theme ??

As a visting tourist I had no choice, sorry. I could have Photoshopped a nice blue sky in, but elected to show the scene more as it really was, and usually is -- with the sun just breaking through a morning overcast. As a matter of fact, the sky isn't "all blown". There is cloud detail there according to both Aperture and Photoshop.

The sky's all blown and the colours could use a bit more saturation IMO.
Shoulda picked another time to shoot it.
