Memories Of The Past

Are you quite sure that the winner of 'memories from the past' actually said that his friends voted down the other entries. I've been following the threads and don't remember that. Lots of people have accused him of all sorts of things, but I think all he's said is that his friends voted for his picture. Friends and family will do that, won't they - and sometimes without being asked or expected to. I'm sure my Mom would vote for my picture if she had a computer - LOL. Here is his last post, as near as I can tell, from 4 days ago:

/I dont quite understand this concept of vote spiking...there are friends who take interest in photography and who are members of this website and they vote for me I know that for a fact...however..this is the last time I will enter a challenge on dpreview./

Seems the vigilantes scared him off.

Did you know that his entry was voted #1 with only 15 votes? Seems to me that if 100 people had voted instead of only 15, these 'irregularities' would be minimized. We should all try to vote more, don't you think?

Apparently, the friends of the winner (as he freely admitted) not only voted for him and spiked the 5 star votes, but made sure they pummeled truly deserving photographs with 0.5 star votes. Sad.

Anyway, congratulations GeoNiko, you have a winner here.
