Last sunlight before the storm

Just before the ominous storm overhead went to discharge all its fury, the sun went low enough on the horizon that it cleared the dark, dense clouds for a fleeting moment and filled the whole landscape with a last glimpse of bright golden light. Then it went below the horizon and the whole view turned pitch black as the cold rain began to pour in the near darkness.
