Fun with Matches

Ok, I guess I meant the "holocaust" part of the name, not the "fun with matches" part.

So is the name of the sculpture Fun with Barbwire? Come on Fun with Matches?

If you've ever been to the Konzentration Camp at Dachau you'll see a bronze statue, o rather statues that have a resemblance to what these burned matches look like. Maybe that was his reason for the odd name.

Except I don't think this is the case here.

As a Jew, I'm a lot more worried about people being "tired of hearing" about the Holocaust, about people denying it ever happened, and about scumbags who downright justify it.

I am not worried a bit about those people, like this photographer, who mean well but inadvertently sin in not conforming to someone else's idea of how respect should be paid.

Having now clicked through to the original challenge entry that this thread refers to, I see that the image author did indeed make reference to 'The' holocaust. I can now see how this may have made some people react negatively to the entry.

Considering that the entry was 'holocaust' *without* a capital H and not preceeded by 'The' it seems to fit the definition of the word quite well.

very insensitive choice of a title, really should be changed! I could imagine here in Germany the Central Council of the Jews would get you in trouble for this.
