Tribute to: Gjon Mili
Challenge has finished
Gjon Mili was one a Life magazine "photographer emeritus". He used the budding technology of strobe lighting to amazing effect, combining technical and artistic genius. This challenge is all about photos made in one or both of Mili's trademarks. Use of flash to stop action, and/or painting with light. As in the examples below, both techniques can be combined. Gjon often worked with Harold Edgerton to capture multi-strobe sequences, but it was his artistry in capturing "the moment" that stands out. Also consider that part of his artistry was using complex lighting set ups to capture images even quite moments with vibrancy. This is a chance to put all those off camera, TTL enabled flash systems to the test! See the samples below: any of these styles is acceptable, so don't limit yourself to thinking of only one style. Entrants and voters alike should please read the additional rules. Thanks.
