El Capitan at Yosemite National Park is one of those distinctive features of Yosemite, apart from Half Dome. Rising tall from the valley floor, it is rather impressive when viewed from the peaceful meadows lining the Merced River. A short walk from Bridalveil falls in winter Yosemite led to a clearing along Merced river. The still calm water provided for amazing reflections. Thank god there were no kids around throwing stones and disturbing the water.
