Cunda's Whirligigman

This is taken in Ayvalik's district Cunda where you can have the best authentic Egean food in Turkey. For years I keep coming here and I like the relatively unharmed local atmosphere. It's been a nice twilight which is one of my favourite lights and after few trial shots the biker boy added a welcomed action to the scene. Next evening I tried to repeat the shot, even attempted to bribe the biker boy but that was it, the first shot remained as my best so far.

I also like this one a lot - great colors & light. I ranked it in a big tie for 6th. I think there were so many great shots in this challenge that some, like this one, sort of got lost in the shuffle (voting on thumbnails, etc). Still, with 350 entries, 87th isn't all that bad - in the top 25%.

Whatever its rank, it is a wonderful photo!

I think your shot is very good and does not deserve to be in 73rd too ; ) Only thing that comes to my mind which might make it better; a 3/2 or even a 16/9 ratio frame, preserving the train's fume, maybe...

I tried to chop the chopped guy on the left, but somehow I thought I lost the 'depth' and kept it as it is. But I'm pretty sure I might chop it if the same shot was taken by someone else! ; ))

I gave you 5 stars and think it is a great shot. I came 73rd and I thought if any picture was much better than mine it was this one. I do have one tiny cricism I wish you hadn't chopped the the guy on the left in half, a little cropping to remove him all would have finished it off.
