2 out of 3 - Bullet with butterfly wings
Challenge finished on Monday, 12 Oct 2009
Bullet with butterfly wings - Smashing Pumpkins - Despite all my rage I'm still just a rat in a cage... The photo must contain at least 2 out of the following 3 elements: Smashing (adj.), Wing and Rage. This is a tribute to another fundamental band and a hymn of the nineties. Perhaps it is not a coincidence that this song's video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DowTH201wI ) is a clear homage to one of the most fundamental photo reports of the century: the Workers of Serra Pelada by Sebastião Salgado - a goldrush almost on the turn of the 21st century: http://www.girafamania.com.br/montagem/fotografo-sebastiao-salgado.html

One Day at a Time
Challenge finished on Sunday, 11 Oct 2009
We live life one day at a time. Daily events can sometimes become so routine we don't think much about them. This challenge is about finding the unique or extraordinary in your daily routine or activities. Keep in mind that what may be boring or ordinary to you may be fascinating to someone else. So, try to create a unique image of something you or someone you know does every day, whether it be at work, home, at play. Capture interesting or surprising aspects of the activity that tell a story. The story may be about the activity itself, the person doing it, the location, or all three. Include a description to help tell the story, but try to make the image effective enough that it still has impact. The image should invite viewers to read the caption, not depend on the caption entirely to work. Be sure to thoroughly read the additional rules! NOTE TO VOTERS: Please take the time, as much as possible, to examine the images beyond your first impression. Thanks.
