Panning. Challenge finished on Thursday, 03 Sep 2015 Panning is a skill used to show speed and blur. It is often used in sports photography. Put your camera onto M mode or shutter priority, and dial in your shutter speed etc. I have found that 1/30th of a second works better with slower subjects all the way to 1/100th for faster subjects. When panning you need to twist at the hips. Focus on your subject or pre focus where you feel the subject will be, and follow your subject all the way through the pan. Keep it smooth for best results.

Go forth and photograph Natures Monumental Monuments. Half Dome is a target this week, and if downunder then take a walkabout to Ayers Rock.
