Rodents ID Challenge finished on Tuesday, 20 Oct 2015 To go more specifically into the Mammalia class this challenge will be focused on Rodents from around the world. Each person will be allowed to submit one photo of a rodent and must provide a general location of where the photo was taken. This will help ID the specific animal, if you know common and or scientific name feel free to provide it. This challenge is for rodents ONLY if you have any questions about if the animal you've photographed is a rodent please feel free to message me. The simple and plain definition of a rodent is: mammals of the order Rodentia, which are characterized by a single pair of unremittingly growing incisors in each of the upper and lower jaws The idea for judging this challenge is to see who has the best photo for being able to ID this specific individual.

Magnificent Mammals-No Pets Challenge finished on Monday, 19 Oct 2015 All Creatures Great and Small Challenge #1. I am sure you have seen those cute postcards with lambs frolicking in the green pasture, Antelopes anteloping or even Lions at home in the savannas of Africa. Get shooting and get some mammalia on a fantastic postcard. This challenge is limited to mammals only. NO DOGS, or HOUSECATS...Wild African dogs and dingoes accepted. Wild cats accepted...If its a pet please do not enter it..they will have their own challenge later...Please, no birds, reptiles and no insects...Bonus points for Unicorns! Remember to add a border and a title, for if you dont you may be put out with the dogs.

Amazing silhouettes Challenge finished on Sunday, 18 Oct 2015 share a photo with an amazing silhouette of a person, animal or thing. "A silhouette is the image of a person, animal, object or scene represented as a solid shape of a single colour, usually black, its edges matching the outline of the subject." I will accept it as silhouette if fine details are obscured in shadows.

Low Key Challenge finished on Sunday, 18 Oct 2015 What is Low Key Lighting? Low key refers to a style of photography that utilizes predominantly dark tones to create a dramatic looking image. Low key lighting intensifies the contrast in an image through intensely lighting the subject.

Sparkling Like Diamonds (Nature) Challenge finished on Saturday, 17 Oct 2015 This challenge gives you the opportunity to showcase your beautiful pictures where the subjects are sparkling like diamonds. For example, sun on dappled water, early morning dew on the grass, rough diamonds recently dug out of the ground or other rocks and minerals which sparkle, the sun on fresh snow, or ice crystals. Please, no ready-made jewellery, polished gemstones or man-made objects. Macro and close-ups welcome. Size of entry: 1,600 pixels on the longer side.

Architectural twilight shot Challenge finished on Thursday, 15 Oct 2015 You have seen them on real estate magazines and home and lifestyle mags...those amazing shots where the lights are on and the place looks just oh so inviting. These shots are not easy and require a real balance of lighting..do some research on real estate photography and you should get some ideas...these are not night shots, the window for shooting these is quite small, and depending on location could be mere minutes. You need to plan your shot and know in advance what settings you should be on...anyway go out and give it a crack

If there are humans they should not be significant (less than 0.5% of the photo area.). Put a Border on the photograph and watermark a Title on your entry. Photo can be taken with any camera, i.e DSLR, SLR, Mirrorless, Compact, Smartphone, etc... .
