Numbers by Compacts
Challenge finished on Monday, 27 Apr 2009
Camera shops often try to sell you compact cameras purely by the numbers - megapixels, zoom ratio, scene modes, screen size and so on. In this challenge, we want you to take pictures of numbers using a compact camera - the more related to your camera's specification the better (for instance, if your camera has a 10x zoom, the number 10 could be an appropriate subject). Think about composition, lighting, and colour, and include a caption to explain your image.

Street Photography
Challenge finished on Saturday, 25 Apr 2009
We're looking for photography where the photographer is merely an unnoticed observer taking photographs of people in places and/or situations showing the human condition, without the subjects posing or being aware they are being photographed. Among my favorites photographers known for this genre are Willy Ronis and Henri Cartier-Bresson.

Savouring the daylight saved
Challenge finished on Saturday, 25 Apr 2009
Many countries in the northern hemisphere are experiencing 'daylight savings time', whereby clocks are brought forward to give us an extra hour's sunlight after our working days. I want you to get out there and make the most of this extra hour's daylight. I'm looking for shots taken late in the day (no night shots) since the challenge was announced.
