Definition of Portrait: A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. Use black and white capture to lead the eye into or around your shot. Use shapes, tones and textures in your frame as points of interest to develop a creative composition. Pay particularly attention to shadows and highlights which will become a feature of your composition. Let the face do the talking.

Quick search gives me 2 definitions. (1) noun: A three-dimensional miniature or life-size scene in which figures, stuffed wildlife, or other objects are arranged in a naturalistic setting against a painted background. (2) noun: A scene reproduced on cloth transparencies with various lights shining through the cloths to produce changes in effect, intended for viewing at a distance through an aperture. Have fun.
