Western Africa (northern section): Their People Challenge finished on Thursday, 16 Jan 2014 As we move (roughly) south thru Africa, the last week's and this week's challenge will cover the following LONG list of countries: Gambia; Senegal; Guinea Bissau; Guinea; Sierra Leone; Liberia; Cote d'Ivory; Burkina Faso; Ghana; Togo; Benin; and Nigeria. It is my sense that very few people have been to many/all of these countries, so I am uncertain as to if we'll hit the 35-entry maximum. If we do, then I'll probably add more spaces, so everyone who wants can enter. Entrants are required to (1) vote for each other entry, (2) read the comments (if any) below this challenge, in case I or other entrants post with Rules questions or clarifications, and (3) follow each of the challenge rules...including voting WITHIN THE FIRST SIX DAYS of the challenge.

Discussion Challenge II - Colorful - but should have plenty of White Challenge finished on Monday, 13 Jan 2014 What can you create with a lot of white in the subject or the background? This challenge encourages discussion for improvement. Enter early for the most constructive feedback. You, as well as any member are encouraged to critique entries. Add comments on how you think images can be improved. If you love it as-is, say so. The entrant, after reading comments may update the photo with a modified version of that photo if they desire. CAUTION: When withdrawing an entry, all comments in a challenge are lost, therefore, BEFORE withdrawing, please copy & paste challenge comments to the original photo in your own gallery or keep somewhere for your reference (so they can be retrieved later when people ask what the comments were and what you changed). THEN withdraw, and immediately re-enter with your modified photo before the challenge goes to vote. It would be nice to add a short summary to a modified submission stating what you did based on feedback.
