Winner: Humble but beautiful wild weed.
It's Just A Flowering Weed Challenge finished on Saturday, 04 Aug 2012 Flowering weeds can be as beautiful as those plants we cultivate, even though we often think of them as pests. Show us the beauty in these flowers, in their natural world. I know that a weed in one country may be a treasure somewhere else, that's okay, it is what YOU consider to be a weed where you live. Wildflowers in the countryside will be in a separate challenge later; this challenge is just about flowering weeds. Also, I'm NOT referring to the smoking variety of weed. That can be someone else's challenge..... Insects or other small creatures may be present in your entry but must not dominate the picture. SIZE DOES MATTER: See below!

Stacked Photography Challenge finished on Thursday, 02 Aug 2012 It's usually used in photographing stars, especially to register their "movement" and create startrails. But the process is also used in daylight photography, to achieve effects similar to long exposure. Show your best stacked images done in the daylight - and check the rules before you enter your work. Ignoring the rules will cause disqualification.
Winner: box shades
Cardboard Box/Boxes (please read the rules) Challenge finished on Thursday, 02 Aug 2012 Let's see if we can make boxes interesting. It can be a single box, stacked boxes, crumpled boxes, colored boxes, or plain boxes but it must be thick paper or cardboard. NOT ALLOWED: Plastic boxes, wooden boxes, glass boxes, metal boxes...well, you understand--ONLY stiff paper and cardboard boxes. Also, the focus/subject of the photo must be the box/boxes. If my eyes find other parts of the photo more interesting, then I will disqualify it. For example, don't put a beautiful female beside a box, or photograph a box in front of the Taj Mahal. Ideally, the winning entry will not depend on how interesting the writing or illustration is on the box(es) but how well the photograph makes the boxes interesting in the shot.
Fantasy Photo Edit Challenge finished on Wednesday, 01 Aug 2012 The goal of this contest is to produce an amazing image using ANY Tools necessary. The subject matter can vary but the important part is that you title your work and give a good explanation of what kind of digital tools you used to make your picture amazing. The more surreal your image the better. This is all about editing to the nth degree. Create an image that takes real photographic material and turns it into something spectacular and fantastical!

Benz Challenge finished on Wednesday, 01 Aug 2012 Mercedes Benz is one of the oldest and most prestigious brands out there, with a history that spans over 100 years. Winner: Hit It Right There
Billboard: Hammerin' man Challenge finished on Wednesday, 01 Aug 2012 A large, family-owned, hardware store wants a billboard to advertise their business (and divert traffic from the nearby big box stores). The patriarch of the family had the nickname "Hammerin' Man" and they want to build on that. They need an image of a construction hammer that will fit the 16:9 ratio of the billboard (no, that's not the real ratio of billboards, but it's easier to manage for this challenge). Submit a suitable horizontal image. You don't need to include text, but you are free to do so if you think it will make your submission more impressive.
