Newspaper editorial: Collegiate sports Challenge finished on Wednesday, 02 Jan 2013 A major newspaper with a significant on-line presence requires an image to illustrate an article on college athletes. The article is something about athletic careers of students after they graduate. The image must be in B&W so no team colors are apparent and any logo or mascot must be hidden or obscured. Furthermore, the image must not include any identifying feature of the subject (no face or jersey name visible). The client indicates that a terrific action shot with the face cropped out is perfectly acceptable, as is a shot of a college locker room or just sporting gear.

Standard Equipment - Compacts - special rules; read carefully! Challenge finished on Monday, 31 Dec 2012 All of us tend to look for ever costlier equipment. This challenge shall show how advanced standard equipment has become. To start with let's restict to compact cameras (and other mobile equipment; not changeable lens) up to approximate 400g. This is a beginners challenge. We want to learn - please comment the pictures! Please be creative! Since many small lenses perform best very near I expect a lot of macro shots. If this challenge gets full I intend to follow up with a macro-excluded round.
