Botswana & Namibia: Non-Portraits Challenge finished on Thursday, 03 Apr 2014 As we move (roughly) south thru Africa, this challenge will cover only the countries of Botswana and Namibia. These countries have some of the best game parks on earth, so I'm sure we'll be seeing some amazing animal photos. Of course, you can surprise us with something different...sand dunes, the waters of the Delta, or anything else that inspires you. I am unsure about how many people have been to these countries, so I don't think we'll hit the 35-entry maximum. If we do, then I'll probably add more spaces, so everyone who wants can enter. Entrants are required to (1) vote for each other entry, (2) read the comments (if any) below this challenge, in case I or other entrants post with Rules questions or clarifications, and (3) follow each of the challenge rules...including voting WITHIN THE FIRST SIX DAYS of the challenge.
Winner: Valve Amplifier
Circuit Boards Run Our Lives Challenge finished on Thursday, 03 Apr 2014 Printed Circuit boards (PCB) are in every device and machine we use nowadays. PCBs are quite analogous to neural connections in our brains. Do you think PCBs are dull?, intimidating? boring? fascinating? beautiful? Convey in an image what you see in a circuit board. An image of a PCB or a collection thereof belonging to any device or machine is acceptable. A PCB must occupy a major part of the image. At the end of submission phase, please open your profile and note your challenge statistics, then read Additional rules.

Other Worlds - Nebulae Challenge finished on Tuesday, 01 Apr 2014 The night sky is full of thousands of Nebulae. Most of them aren't visible to the naked eye, but our cameras and lenses are able to capture the beautiful details and colours that lie within them. Use a long exposure to capture a photo of either 1 Nebula, or several if you can. Some of the better-known ones are the Orion Nebula or the Lagoon Nebula, some of the less popular but equally fascinating ones are the Crab Nebula or the Ghost Of Jupiter. Be creative and have fun.
