Abstract Photography Challenge finished on Friday, 10 Feb 2012 Definition from Wiki: "Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world." Anything goes, whatever you think is visually appealing. Many samples can be found by googling 'abstract photography' images. I've provided a few quick samples, but I'm sure most entries will be much better than mine. ;)

Creative Filters: Neutral Density Challenge finished on Friday, 10 Feb 2012 Photographs taken with the use of solid neutral density (ND) filters. ND grad filters are not eligible, as they will be the subject of a future challenge. Please read all of the additional rules carefully - last week I disqualified nearly half of the entries because they did not include details of the type of filter used to achieve the shot. Definition: An ND filter typically screws or slots onto the end of a primary lens. It blocks up to 10 stops of light coming into the camera, allowing for wider apertures or longer exposures than would normally be possible. ND filters can be used creatively to blur moving subjects, such as clouds or waterfalls, or to allow a wide aperture for subject isolation.
