Shades of Grey in Nature

Challenge #95 in the Life in the Natural World series. Hosted by RuthC.
Challenge has finished
Grey is not my most favourite colour, yet I've noticed there are some very interesting shades of grey in the natural world. Here's your opportunity to show us some of them. Your pictures might be of drift wood, moths' wings, spiders, feathers, (with or without the owners), rocks or pebbles, grey clouds in the sky, foggy mornings. No domestic animals. Please, full colour photos only, DON'T desaturate or change the shots to B&W, as they will be DQ'd. Macro and close-ups welcome. Size of entry: 1,600px MAXIMUM on its longer side. And no, I haven't read the book. :-)
