- Old People Portraits with Natural Expression in BW - (with Border, Title and Date)

Basically that. Old People should mean they are above 50 years old. You may enter up to 2 entries, provided they are different old people.. Photo can be taken with any camera, i.e DSLR, SLR, Mirrorless, Compact, Smartphone, etc... Please include a border and an appropriate title on the photo itself. The date of capture (correct to the right month) must watermarked somewhere

BW, no sepia please.
Cropping is OK but please do not delete or replace the background.

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

Only entrants who have won at least one photo challenge in Dpreview.com can enter.
The total entry limit is now set at 25, it might be increase if the challenge is well received.
I might consider allowing entries from beginner participants if their entry is on par with the rest of the field.
Do not submit shots used in previously completed DPReview.com challenges.
No political statements please, any photos with the slightest hint of controversial statement or message will be removed without any notice.
Shots I find offensive might be removed.
Make sure the entries look good and tasteful (at least you must find your own shot tasteful).
Complaints might not be entertained after the voting has started.
The host's action (or inaction) is up to him.

The definition of old varies depending on culture and country. Where I live, old is over 70 years for the white population and 55 years for the indigenous. Besides how you know how old the person in the photo is. A street shooter is hardly likely to enquire the age from their subject. I know some 40 year olds who look 70 or 80 - depends on how hard they have lived their lives and level of substance abuse they have. I guess it is left to us as a photographer to interpret 'old'.

"Old people" are 50 or above? Incredible. My wife was 3 years from being 'old people' when she gave birth to our son.

I would like mr. ConanFuji to be our minister for welfare: I'll wait till 67 to retire, but I'm an old man since five years ago!
Probably the perception of age in a young country like China is far different from elder Europe.

I could see making 'old people' of an age that many who have attained it are proud of the fact. 80, 85, 90, those folks sometimes are quite proud of their longevity. But 50 as "old"? This must have been started by a 22 year old with 40 year old parents.

I'm not so tender and sensitive that this is going to make me upset but it sure does tell something when people 50 and over are thought of as 'old'. When I was in grade school I thought 35 was really old. I was riding bulls when I was over 50.

But hey, let the challenge begin. I'm just pointing out the different view of what is 'old'.

What's wrong with you people... haha? If you think 50 is too young, then take a shot of someone 98 years old. Simple eh..?
