None of the first four place-getters is a photograph of a pie. And many of the others are not either. Why were these not disqualified (not really a difficult word for all those folks who feel compelled to write DQ'd - good grief!)?

A number of these entries are NOT pies. Pies should have a pastry crust, or some appropriate cover under and/or over the filling. Entries showing cakes or loaves, are not pies, and should have been DQ'd by the Host before this challenge was open for voting.

You entry is OK insofar you know what defines a 'pie'.
I live in a culture of sweets (ever heard of Viennese Coffeehouses?) but a pie is an unknown.
My delicious cranberry cake was disqualified as 'Its just a pictures of bread' (sic!) which I consider devoid of any culture.
Given your definition I expect cookies are way off, fruits on a basis are out and a chocolate cake is no pie either.
What nags me most is that I lost all information about votes.
I wouldn't complain when I were disqualified *before* voting - in fact I even sent a PM asking the host to do so on the claim 'I do not know what defines a pie'.
