Show us an example of a very busy, detailed natural landscape or seascape which would make a great jigsaw puzzle. Man-made structures, (roads, buildings, bridges etc.,) should be non-existent or minimal please. Think 1,000+ piece, devious 'drive-you-crazy' picture with lots of minute details.... :-) SIZE: 1,600px MAXIMUM ON LONGER SIDE.

Processing rules:

SIZE: Longer side of entry, MAXIMUM 1600px.
Digital photos only, with full EXIF data.
Colour only.
No HDR.
TITLE: Give your entry a title, not just an photo number.
NO watermarks or forms of identification, or personal website references.
Don't add 'puzzle effect' to the photo.

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

NO photos from previous DPR challenges can be entered in this challenge.
Encouraging comments about entries are welcome.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! If you enter the challenge, take the time to vote on other entries! This will hopefully counteract the sandbaggers' votes which spoil the genuine results for everyone's entries.
Don't try to vote via Thumbnails in this challenge..... It's not a fair way to assess the details in such a challenge.
Sandbagging, and vote solicitation will cause DQ'ing of entries, please don't even contemplate it!
Entrants or voters caught cheating will be unwelcome in my future challenges.

I've just completed voting in this challenge. There are some really beautiful images that I considered unacceptable for a jig-saw puzzle because the detail was so repetitive or the image was so simple and elegant that it would have been virtually unsolvable as a puzzle. I think that the required detail should not be repetitive.
Thanks to everyone for a lot of inspiration through these images.

I think you may have missed the whole point here. The images are supposed to be ones which, presented as a jigsaw, would be extremely difficult to solve. To quote the host:

"I am very pleased that: 1. They aren't real jigsaw puzzles which would drive me nuts to try to piece together. 2. As host, I can't vote to choose which of these devilish entries is the best of the best!"

No jigsaw is "unsolvable". I have encountered some with no picture at all -- merely an assortment of similarly-but-not-identically-shaped pieces. These were nevertheless solvable with patience. Images with repeating patterns, as a number of these entries are, make ideal jigsaw subjects.

This Natural Landscapes Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge has filled quickly, with amazingly intricate, detailed, devious pictures, which I am delighted to see!
I am very pleased that: 1. They aren't real jigsaw puzzles which would drive me nuts to try to piece together. 2. As host, I can't vote to choose which of these devilish entries is the best of the best!
Best wishes during voting, and I'm sure you are aware, for this particular challenge, the intricate details within the picture are just as important as the beautiful scene.

LANDSCAPES, folks, landscapes for this Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge!
I'm planning to have other Jigsaw Puzzle Challenges in the future (if anyone is interested), including a Macro and Close-up Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge, so keep these close-up puzzles for later, please.
